Kiwi Bass, Jud Arthur has been Australian based since 2003.

During that time Arthur has performed to critical acclaim most of the standard Bass repertoire for Opera Australia, including roles such as Angelotti: Tosca, Sarastro/Speaker: Magic Flute, Colline: La Bohème, Nightwatchman: Die Meistersinger, Lodovico: Otello, Theseus: Midsummer Night¹s Dream, Nourabad: Pearlfishers, Mikado, Comte de Grieux: Manon, Chelio: Love for Three Oranges, Zuniga: Carmen, Bonze: Madama Butterfly, Grenvil: La Traviata, Nilakantha: Lakmé, Monterone: Rigoletto, Timur: Turandot, Bartolo: Marriage of Figaro, Ferrando: Il Trovatore, Commendatore: Don Giovanni, Ramfis/King: Aida, Hobson: Peter Grimes, Fernando: Fidelio, Basilio: Barber of Seville, Banquo: Macbeth, Candy: Of Mice and Men, Pistol: Falstaff, Duke: Roméo et Juliette and Fafner/Hunding: Der Ring des Nibelungen.

He has also performed frequently with West Australian Opera, Opera Queensland, New Zealand Opera and the State Opera of South Australia.

His concert performances include the Verdi Requiem with the NZSO, The Mozart Requiem and Beethoven 9 at Sydney Opera House.

Career highlights include international acclaim for his performance in Opera Australia's Ring Cycle. Stepping in at the last minute as Zaccaria in Perth for WAO and has sung the National Anthem on many occasions for the All Blacks matches.

Off the stage, Jud was a former state Rugby player for Otago and no.8 for the International Italian team, Mirano. He was also a former holder of the New Zealand under 21 show jumping title.
