Victoria Lambourn is one of Australia’s leading mezzo sopranos. She performs regularly with Opera Australia at the Sydney Opera House, and since winning the 2014 German-Australian Opera Grant, has been performing at the Hessisches Staatstheater Wiesbaden in Germany.

Victoria studied singing, piano, cello, and composition at the Queensland Conservatorium Music School before continuing her studies at the Royal Northern College of Music (UK), graduating with a Bachelor of Music (Honours), Postgraduate Diploma in Performance and Master of Music Performance. She performed her first operatic role at the age of 15 when she performed Dido in her school’s production of Dido and Aeneas. Her performance as Angelina in La Cenerentola for the RNCM led to an invitation to participate in the Accademia Rossiniana in Pesaro (Italy). Awards include the Australian Music Foundation Awards, Peter Moores Foundation Scholarships and People's Choice Prize in the Dame Joan Sutherland Singing Competition.

For the Hessisches Staatstheater Wiesbaden, Victoria has performed Rosina in Il Barbiere di Siviglia, Hänsel in Hänsel und Gretel, Nicklausse/Muse in Les Contes d’Hoffmann, Miss Jessel in The Turn of the Screw, Flora in La Traviata, and Paquette in Candide. For Opera Australia Victoria has performed Suzuki in Madama Butterfly (Handa Opera on Sydney Harbour), Rosmira in Partenope, Mercédès in Carmen, Nancy in Albert Herring, 2nd Lady in The Magic Flute, Juno in Orpheus in the Underworld, Flora in La Traviata, and Emmy in a concert version of Der Vampyr. For other companies Victoria has performed Dorabella in Così fan tutte (Melbourne Opera), Hänsel in Hänsel und Gretel (State Opera of South Australia), Florence in Albert Herring (Victorian Opera), La Badessa in Suor Angelica (Macau International Music Festival) and 2. Dame (Theater Bonn).

On the concert platform, Victoria has performed with the Sydney Symphony (Governess in Pique Dame), Melbourne Symphony (Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers, Percy Grainger Tribute concert), Queensland Symphony (Messiah, Opera Gala), Canberra Symphony (Beethoven’s Symphony No.9, CSOlé concert), Orchestra Victoria, Sydney Philharmonia, and Melbourne Royal Philharmonic. She has given two concert tours of China and was principal mezzo in Universal Studio’s Christmas Concert in Japan.

Her debut EP album Lakmé was released by the ABC Classics label, and she appears on several CDs by ABC Classics and a CD of Percy Grainger works with the MSO released by Chandos Records.

In 2016 Victoria performed the role of Smeraldina in The Love of Three Oranges with Opera Australia (Sydney Opera House), sang with the Darwin Symphony Orchestra in an outdoor opera gala, and give recitals in Germany and Australia.
