Tarita Botsman is a stage director and opera singer.
Tarita made her professional operatic debut in Australia at the tender age of 22 years of age for Opera Queensland. After extensive study in Italy and Australia, she then went on to perform over twenty roles overseas in Germany and the UK. She has also performed as an actress for all of the major state theatre companies in Australia.
A graduate of the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London, where she studied opera and acting, she was a winner of the Young Australian of the Year and Young Queenslander of the Year awards in 1998 for her enthusiastic energy, vision and contribution to opera in Australia and the recipient of numerous awards including the Monash University Italian Studies Award, the Ian Potter Cultural Trust Travel Award and a Queen’s Trust Award for Excellence. Tarita made her European recital debut at Teatro il Tempietto in Rome which was followed by invitations to perform solo recitals in France, UK, Italy, Pacific Islands, Japan, United Arab Emirates and Morocco between 2008 and 2015.
Tarita has been involved with directing corporate events and concerts since 2002 worldwide. Memorable corporate clients she has delivered performances for, have included Gucci Australia, Sofitel, IBM, Microsoft, Paspaley Pearls, Cartier, IGA, EFIC (Export, Finance and Insurance Corporation), Team Australia - Bangkok, Hyundai China, Clipsal 500, Rolex, Tourism Australia, Orica, UDIA, Qld Premier’s Department, The Mater Hospital, Sheraton, Lush, Ritz Carlton, Brisbane City Council, Sealy Orthopedic, RAMS, Raptis group, Raffles Asset Management, Mercedes Benz, Maserati, Local Government of New South Wales, Australian Hospitality and Management Awards, Royal Hospital for Women - Brisbane, City Plaza Shopping Centre - Hong Kong, Mackay Festival of the Arts, Australian-Italian Festival, Dubai Shopping Festival and the Singapore Fashion Festival.
She was the founding member of the group The 7 Sopranos in 2009 who have been touring regional Australia their self titled concert show in 2015 and 2016. The group released their first self-titled album “The 7 Sopranos” with ABC Classics. The 7 Sopranos have been produced and managed by the company, Cre8ion, since 2014.
Tarita Botsman maintains an exciting career as a soloist performing at recitals and events all over the world and her album “Treasures” album with Glenn Amer was launched in the South of France in August 2014. “Treasures” has been touring around regional Australia in 2015 and continues to do so throughout 2016.
Most recently, Tarita was appointed the director and music consultant for the welcome dinner of the Queensland Government’s inaugural Advance Queensland Innovation and Investment Summit in April 2016. This event weaved three international chefs, a 6 course degustation menu and 5 StartUp pitches for over 500 guests over a three hour event.
